30 Day Trial

UPDATE: As of January 1, 2005 we are no longer offering the 30-day "Try-it-you'll-like-it" trial. Although it started out as a wonderful selling tool, it stopped being cost-effective for us and was misused one too many times. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. The following is meant for reference only.

This page is meant to clarify our 30-Day "Try It, You'll Like It" Trial Policy.

Since we are a small company and don't have a dealer network across the country, we have found that the best way to "demonstrate" the MC Cable Cutter & Pigtailer is to allow our customers to try the machine for 30 days. Most decide to keep the machine and many of our machines are sold this way. Unfortunately, previously returned machines have been damaged in transit back to us. Improper packaging resulted in excessive damage (over $500.00!) which we ended up paying for. There has also been apparent misuse or underuse of returned machines. Some companies have apparently bought the machine for one job, used the heck out of it, then returned it. Others have bought it, looked at it, then sent it back. Either example is not what we intend the trial be used for. The machine should be bought with the intent of keeping it and treated carefully as if you owned it already. Plan on using it and be prepared to call us if you have any operating questions. The following terms should clarify any misunderstanding over the policy and avoid additional costs to us and also help us to avoid raising the price of the machine or eliminating the trial period altogether. 30-Day "Try It, You'll Like It" Trial Terms:

One trial per company name and address.
Current customers and previous trial companies are not eligible.
We will cover the cost of ground shipping to you. If you keep the machine, this shipping charge will already be listed on your invoice. If you return the machine, the invoice (and charges) become void although you will agree to pay for insured shipping back to us.
Overseas companies (including Hawaii) are not eligible due to shipping costs.
You must let us know before you order that you wish to have the 30-day trial.
If you asked for/received a discount because you are a "dealer/distributor", the trial will/does not apply to you or your customers.
Accessories and spare blades are not eligible for the trial.
We would initially like a Purchase Order from you as a commitment that you intend to buy the machine if it works for you. We can arrange for exceptions to this term. Minimally, we will need credit information from you.
You agree to call us if you or your technicians have any problems with the machine so we can assure your satisfaction (and purchase).
In the likely event you decide to keep the machine, we operate on a 30-day NET system and expect payment soon after the trial period is over. The trial period is not an extension of the payment period. Please arrange this with your accounts payable department before you order the trial because an invoice will be sent soon after the machine ships to you.
You MUST call us before you return the machine. We especially want to talk to the persons who have used the machine to see why they don't like it and want to return it.
The machine MUST be returned in the original box using the original packaging. The packaging and labor are a small part of the cost of the machine and help protect it from shipping damage. The box makes a good storage container and should be saved anyway. You are responsible for assuring the machine is returned to us undamaged by shipping. You agree to pay $100.00 if the box/packaging are not returned and for any resulting damage.
The machine should be returned with any spare blades, instructions, and other items that are sent with it or you will be billed for them.
You will be billed for any damages to the machine as a result of abuse/misuse.
You will cooperate in the event of shipping (back to us) damage and help us file a claim.

To summarize the terms above: You ask for the trial, we ship you a machine, you try it out and decide if you want it or not. If you want it, pay the invoice. If you don't want it, call us to arrange return and explain the reason. You agree to take care of the machine, return it in the original box/packaging and pay insured shipping back to us. The trial has been a very useful tool for both us and the many customers who requested the trial and bought machines over the years.
