Place the machine on a table or workbench and secure with screws or clamps, if desired. Then, feed the cable through the guides and onward to your desired whip length. We recommend you use a cable spool/reel to avoid unnecessary twists in the cable. The drills shown here are set up to cut 8" pigtails. Pigtail length is measured from the cut-off saw blade to the seam in the drill. The cable guide channel and carriage bolt guides shown are supplied with the MC Cable Cutter & Pigtailer. Many companies choose to remove them because they find them unnecessary. They help aid cable guidance of very hard cables or very curly cables--such as found at the end of a spool. The cable guide channel is stored below the spare blades on earlier machines.
